It began in 2008, in a home in Ahmedabad, with a needle and a belief — that every woman deserves a garment made only for her. Ekta Patel had graduated from NIFT Gandhinagar in 2004 and spent years learning the very soul of Indian textiles at Arvind Mills, understanding fabric not as material but as the medium through which a woman expresses who she is. She started small — family orders, neighbourhood word-of-mouth, one perfect outfit at a time. And because the work was honest and the quality was undeniable, the word spread further than she ever planned. By 2017, demand had grown beyond what a home could hold, and Label Ekta Patel opened its own studio — a space built entirely around the craft she had spent a decade perfecting. Since then, there has been no looking back. Ekta has dressed women for weddings, Diwalis, sangeets, graduations, and quiet evenings where they simply wanted to feel connected to their roots — clients in the USA, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Dubai, and across India, each one served through a personal consultation, a custom design, and a garment that travels from the studio in Ahmedabad directly to their door. Now, with Kujá by Ekta, she turns her full attention to the Indian woman in America — to give her exactly what she has always given every client: something made to fit her perfectly, for the life she is beautifully living.
